AFI

January 1, 2004 by urbn

AFI is back but not with a new disc. If you discovered the band with their lates major effot “Sing The Sorrow” or if you never took time to look back in the band’s discography, here is your chance. The new release from the band features 15 tunes from all of the NITRO records of the bands, from the old school beginnings, till the latest hardcore memories. It contains songs taken from any disc the band ever made, and it also has got songs that were never released on CD before, but just on vynil. The cd stars with songs from “The Art Of Drowning” as “The Lost Souls” and “The Days Of The Phoenix” and it goes on with tunes from the great “All Hallow’s Ep” and “The Days Of The Phoenix Ep’s”: I still think that “Totalimmortal” is a great tune. Then it goes back to the best disc the band ever made, “Black Sails In The Sunset”, with “The Prayer Position”, “God Called In Sick Today” and the “Lower It”, a track available only on the vinyl version of the album. Among the older stuff from albums like “Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Eyes”, “Answer That And Stay Fashionable” and “Very Proud Of Ya”, you can hear anthems like “Perfect Fit”, “A Single Second” and “He Who Laughs Last”. Also, some rare tracks as “Who Said You Could Touch Me” and “Rolling Balls”, from the vinyl of “Very Proud Of Ya” are super cool. This disc is a must-have for AFI fans ( especially for the booklet ) and a great way for the newer fans to discover the band’s past.
