While waiting for the release of their new full length album (their sophomore album released independently) German punk rock and rollers The Donots found the time to release their second DVD. This time it’s a live DVD featuring the full live show recorded in Osnabrück, in December 2008, and it features twenty-five songs that span all the band’s career.
The band shows high energy and impact, thanks to the amazing stage presence of vocalist Ingo and guitar player Guido, and on such songs as the classics “Today”, “Saccharine Smile” and “I Quit” you can really smell the energy. And the sweat. The setlist is quite different from what you’d expect from Donots, since they play most of their hit singles (“Whatever Happened To The 80s”, “Room With A View” and “Good-Bye Routine”) but also some songs that might not be popular to most. “Duck And Cover”, “Hours Away” and “Up Song” are amazing tracks, mostly released during the “Amplify The Good Times” era.
The DVD also features the four official videos released for the singles from the album “Coma Chameleon”, with the unreleased video for “New Hope For The Dead”.
I can highly recommend this to the band’s fans and to people who never heard of these dudes and want to spend some hour with their fists in the air.
