Riot Fest – Busted at Oz Reunion show (sold out)

Truepunk feature for the Riot Fest in Chicago

Even though the Busted at Oz event this year at Riot Fest is sold out I wanted to take some time to focus on several of the bands that will be playing. Since several of these bands have not even been together in 10 – 20 years I wanted to go over some of the details about the bands.

The name “Busted at Oz” is based off the 1981 Chicago punk compulation that was recorded live at Oz in March of 1981.

Naked Raygun

Naked Raygun has had a long history of Reunion shows in the past 5 years. After reunited in 2006 at the Chicago Riot Fest (the 2nd year of the fest?) the band has since been a somewhat active band. The band announced in 2009 a series of 7 inches and a full length LP. Naked Raygun isn’t reunited for this specific show but seems to be involved with the show because of their previous reunion show from past years and the fact that they were on the origional compulation back in 1981. Personally I was confused with them on this bill only because I thought they were all ready back together which from my understanding has been the case. So don’t think of Naked Raygun as getting back together for this show, but really more of an annaversy celebration of the band reuniting at Riot Fest a few years ago.
