There’s a palpable sense of adventure on Chicago four piece Rise Against’s 2006 album The Sufferer & The Witness. Having recently defected from Californian indie label Fat to major label Geffen, the band’s exploratory song structures and dynamic directional shift has brought a maturation to the sound few could have predicted.

One of the latest bands to come out on Nitro Records, Lost City Angels show us how it can sound easy to mix elements of pop punk influenced music with street punk rock’n'roll: someone said they sound as a mix of Good Charlotte and Social Distorion. Maybe it is true (Jon thinks it’s not), but the thing you know for sure is that Lost City Angels has an “S/t” album out that is filled with nice nice Bostonian songs.

I do not even think there is any need o introduce who or what Less Than Jake is, as they are quite famous all over the world. After some albums on major label Capitol, they released a full length album on Fat Wreck Chords, and now they are releasing their “new” album of b-sides, out-takes and rare stuff called “Good Bye Blue & White” on Fueled By Ramen Records. I talked with JR about some of the things that are happening to the band right now and he was kind enough to answer.
