Riot Fest this year is looking to be better and bigger then the last years the festival has run. Riot Fest is the largest festival in the Midwest and has continued to grow in band size and venue spaces. Now in the events 5th year the band lineups contain some of the largest or at least some of the most well known bands in punk rock. The fest takes place over 5 days starting on October 5th and running until October 10th.
At the time of writing this there are over 20 shows planned at 7 venues with a band line up of over 90 punk bands with more bands, shows and venues expected to be added as we get close to the festivels event date. These numbers do not even include house shows or “secret shows” that are expected to happen but as of yet are unknown (at least to me). If this years punk fest is anything like the previous years there will be no problem finding something going on for the punks and kids attending the festival.
This year has many fantastic punk bands playing a wide range of punk genres. Fans of hardcore, pop punk, punk rock and straight up rock will really have their hands full with trying to decide which shows to attend. There are even a number of Ska and metal bands that will be preforming this year.
Some of the big name headliners this year include Bad Religion , Propagandhi, Cro-Mags, Riverboat Gamblers, Anti-Flag, Less then Jake, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jello Biafra And The Guantanamo School of Medicine. and the Circle Jerks with Keith Morris.
Festival starts: Wednesday, Oct 06, 2010 6:30 PM CDT (6:30 PM Doors) – Sunday, Oct 10, 2010 12:00 PM CDT

Just a heads up the 5 day passes are now out. You can still get 3 day passes but no chance at the 5 day passes any longer.
Saw this on the ticket section and figured readers would be interested in knowing.
Here is a link to one of the venues that will be hosting a number of the shows for Riot Fest. Some of the bands that will be playing this venue are Corrosion Of Conformity, Cro-Mags and the Meatmen.

Not so much information specific to Riot Fest but there are a number of news pieces about a number of the bands that will be playing this year.
Have they really only had 200 bands over the last 4 years? I figured they had to have more since this years lineup is expected to go over 100 bands.
Old post on the 2008 Riot Fest with band listings and information.
Damn, why can’t Dillinger Four be there for this years event!
