The musical genres of nowadays...pretty much suck. We all see bands turning into rock or pop or worst of all, emo. Most of the bands on most of the record labels around here suck. And I am serious! Instead, I can only praise a band like RISE AGAINST. This quartet comes from Chicago, and after an LP on FAT, this is their new album, Revolutions Per Minute, probably the best FAT release of this year ( NOFX does NOT count, I'm a fan!). Rise Against are true, serious, dedicated, original and revolutionary. I never heard a band playing with such passion like this band on this album, not even Bad Religion or Minor Threat or Bad Brains. Taking something like ten thousands step forward compared to the lame bands that play melodic hardcore, Rise Against scratch from their backs the label of Good Riddance style band. This new album features the 13 best, most powerful, most passionate tunes I heard in such a long time. Such tracks as Black Masks And Gasoline, Heaven Knows, Like The Angel, Broken English, Amber Changing are just beautiful:the melody and the anger, the fury and the slowly choruses, the fast and the calm moments are all shaken in an LP that will be surely remembered in the history of hardcore music, just like Kid Dynamite was. This band is truely amazing, I love the way Tim Mcllrath sings and the way the band sounds, they never miss anything. Buy this CD, my personal favorite new album of 2003 by far from the best band of 2003.

I had never heard these guys before I saw them at Warped '03. Whoa, was I missing out. It's so passionate. And Tim's voice sails from hardcore to singing smoother than butta'.
