Much The Same - Quitters Never Win

I first heard this band on the Militia Group compilation of unsigned band and their song One Of A Kind really blew me away: it was the best song of the whole compilation. Their debut album on A-F Records, after they changed their name ( they were once called Don't Look Down ), is quite possibly one of the finest debut ever. Quitters Never Win is what punkrock and melodic hardcore are all about: fast songs, powerful vocals, some screams and super melodic chords. This quartet really know how to play hot songs, such as Wish or Liar or the above mentioned One Of A Kind are the best stuff I heard since the latest Rise Against record: the melody is really important here, but also the lyrics, which are serious, not just about girls or parties. There is really nothing bad about this band, and the production of Dan Precision ( ex-Rise Against and 88 Fingers Louie ) and Chris#2 ( of Anti-Flag ), really give props to the Chicago quartet. Quitters Never Win is an amazing album and will surely be in my top10 of the best records released during 2003: hear this, Much The Same will go very big!

Indeed one of the best releases in 2003 so far. Hard to believe that there's not more exposure of this great band lately.
