Truepunk.com is a community run non profit website that tries to include the fans of punk music and the bands, labels and promoters together though news, information and events relating to the music, culture and lifestyle we all love.

Unlink many of the other larger and more well known punk sites we are not some large marketing corporation with a team of writers and marketing hot shots that work for some nameless company playing off peoples interest in punk music.  We are simply people who love everything punk who can barely afford to eat most days.

What is TruePunk?

Truepunk.com was started 12 years ago by a punk rocker named Johnathon with the idea of starting a punk music website to help out bands and artists in the punk rock scene. Over the years and thousands of reviews and interviews truepunk was passed on to Eric (urbn) in 2006. The idea has stayed the same though the site has changed. Through many ups and downs over the last 3 years the staff have continued to try their hardest within their available time to offer a helping hand to bands, labels and the people of the punk scene in what ever way they can.

Truepunk continues with the same ideals the site and its members have always had. Help promote bands, and the music they are putting out. To offer what ever we can and to help out where we can to the music scene and others involved in music.

What does TruePunk mean?

Sarcasm is a powerful yet confusing thing for most people. Punk rock is full of irony and sarcasm yet many people seem to take the concept of Truepunk.com too seriously. The concept of punk has been a debate that has passed between generations and genres of music for years. Is it a life style? A way of life? A fashion or just music? These are the things people have always argued about and that is where the name Truepunk comes from. We like to think everything is Truepunk or punk rock.
